About Kris
Kris is a Denver-based screenwriter, producer, and storyteller whose work spans feature films, documentaries, podcasts, and fiction. He is the writer, co-producer, and host of The High Roller Heist (2024), a hit true-crime podcast heard by millions of listeners, and the writer and producer of the found-footage horror feature Alien Valley (2015). He is also the author of the horror novella Red Moon Night (2019). Kris is expanding his horror storytelling with podcast and audiobook adaptations of his novella to reach a new audience.
Kris is currently producing Crazy Legs, a feature documentary about legendary stand-up comedian Chris “Crazy Legs” Fonseca—the first comedian with a physical disability to perform on The Late Show with David Letterman.
He holds a master's degree from the University of Arizona, where he was a Knowledge River Scholar, a program dedicated to advancing library and information services for Latino and Native American communities. While working in the university's Special Collections archive, Kris discovered a collection of original John Ford Western shooting scripts. Reading them sparked a fascination with cinematic storytelling. What began as a way to pass the time quickly became an obsession, and he soon redirected his graduate studies toward film.
When he isn't telling stories, Kris is spending time with his wife, Carla, and their best little buddy, Ziggy. He still misses his dad, Ed, and his dog, Obi, every day. A lifelong fan of horror, true crime, and old-school board games, he's happiest discovering a great film, exploring a new city, or gathering around a campfire to tell a story.
